10-13-08 We just returned from Cameron County, Pennsylvania. We filmed 3 nice Pennsylvania 8 points, all falling victim to an Innerloc Broadhead. On the opening day of the season I shot a nice 8 point on the ground without the aid of a blind, so I relied on my Medalist to keep me hidden. The buck was shot at 40 yards. Thanks to the Carbon Tuner broadhead it only ran 50 yards. Mike, my cameraman and I thought things couldn’t get any better.
That evening my 72 year old grandfather, PopPop, and Mike went out, only to miss an 8 point at 17 yards. PopPop had never shot a deer with archery equipment and appeared to have buck fever. Pennsylvania allows no hunting on Sunday, so we spent the day scouting new areas.
Monday morning I filmed my good friend Justin, when he encountered a giant mountain buck that would score around 135. We couldn’t seal the deal that morning, but the weather was perfect, leaves were changing, and all we needed was some luck. That afternoon sit, Mike and PopPop headed out, and found the luck. They were only in the blind 30 seconds when an 8 point appeared under the apple tree, at 15 yards. He took his time and released the bolt from his Excalibur crossbow, placing a perfect shot. He scored on his first ever deer archery equipment.
That week we had plenty of encounters with Justin, but just couldn’t make it happen. On Friday morning, Mike and my Dad, headed out to an oak flat that he had scouted this summer. At first light another 8 point showed him self at 12 yards. My Dad smacked him with a 125 grain Stainless Extreme. The deer ran 60 yards completing the 3 generations sweep in PA. This trip we were very blessed. All 3 hunts on film, under great light conditions, and all 3 deer run less than 70 yards each. I know I will never forget this trip and I know they won’t either. I am itching to get Out There again. My next trip is back to New Jersey to try and Innerloc a few more deer.

9-23-08 I just got back from Sparta, New Jersey, where I hunted with my good friend Jimmy Gaccione. During the early archery season in New Jersey, you must first shoot a doe before a buck. We saw plenty of deer and we each got a nice doe. With the camera running, I shot mine with the new Carbon Tuner. I got a clean pass through and she only ran 30 yards before she fell over. She was still in view with the camera running. I had a great time and go to meet some great people. It has been a long time since I visited the Gaccione family and it felt great to be back. I will be heading back in a month to try and shoot a great buck on video.

9-10-08 We just returned from Lake Wales Florida, hunting with Mitch and Bill Kline of El-Lagarto Alligator Services. Cheryl Leibold of Pennsylvania and Don Hadler of Indiana joined me on an alligator hunt of a lifetime. The hunt took place in the West Palm Beach area, on public water. One interesting thing about this hunt was, there is no motors allowed on the water way. The boat we used was a 3 foot by 11 foot Jon boat that held Mike, my camera man, Mitch, our guide and me.
As soon as sunset arrived, Cheryl grabbed the Excalibur crossbow, and headed to the water with Mike over her shoulder with the camera. Gators were everywhere, and the sizes ranged from 5 foot to 12 foot. Cheryl had plenty of chances to kill a gator, but was holding out for a big one. When the time was right, she shot a nice 9 foot 6 inch gator, and killed it instantly with the crossbow, tipped with an Innerloc Gator Grapple. After Cheryl, I got a shot at 10 foot 6 gator also with the crossbow, but had a scary time bringing his gator in. The boat was only 6 inches smaller than the gator, and was pulling the boat everywhere. The gator at one time dented the bottom of the boat with his head, making for some exciting footage. After a 35 minute battle, the gator was pulled up, and finished off with the bang stick. The AMS equipment worked very well, in aiding me on my biggest gator yet.
The hunt was not over. Don Hadler took a nice gator with his rifle topped with a Leopold scope. This was a hunt was on private water and was very exciting to watch.
Cheryl and I had plenty of chances to shoot hogs as well. The pigs were plentiful and fun to shoot with both the Pearson bow and Excalibur crossbow. Bill and Mitch did a great job in getting all the hunters on good gators, and work real extremely hard in making sure the conditions were safe. Thank the lord the hurricanes missed us all, and our hearts and prayers go out to all those effected by them.

6-30-08 Hey everyone we just returned home from Illinois. Mike and I traveled to Illinois in quest of the silver carp. Our trip began by leaving PA, at 3 in the morning. We drove all day, and stopped off at the Lumenok headquarters. Eric & Curt Price were there to show us around their facility, and I have to say it’s cool. Eric showed us how they make the “American made” Lumenok and it was very interesting. Since I already had my fishing license, we decided to go shoot frogs. I shot 98 times, and only got 2. The only one happy that night was my wife Joy because she loves frogs. The video is great and the Lumenoks worked well. We lost 0 arrows, and the frogs all need glasses, because I think I blinded them, with the brightness of the nocks. It’s now 1:30AM and we haven’t slept yet so we headed south 2 hours to our hotel room in Henry Illinois. The next morning we signed in for Innerloc’s State Bow fishing Tournament. I didn’t have a partner, so we waited to see if anyone needed one, and would like to be filmed. Our new friend Rick saved the day. We started bow fishing at 6pm, and in 2 hours I hit 9 fish out of the air. One fish hit Mike, my field producer, in the back, but no injury. That evening we filmed 9 more getting shot, we had a ball. The next morning we were all tired but we had to weigh in by 8 am. We had 1 fish that weighed 14 pounds, not big enough. Congrats to the winners, and I have to say, it was a great time. If you never bow fished for flying, fish, or any fish, give it a try. The Innerloc Illinois State Bow fishing shoot is a first class shoot. Innerloc paid $500 to the biggest fish brought in using there head. The fish that won was 16 pounds. I learned a lot that day, and thanks to all that was involved. Check out the show in a few weeks, it’s going to be great. Hope to see you Out-There next year.
